UPDATE:
September 2009
Marina has returned from the Dominican Republic.
She went to visit
the Deaf schools and minister in a few Deaf churches there. Here is her
testimony and some pictures.
I just returned from the Dominican Republic in August. Let me tell you about the experience I had with deaf people there. Here's what happened to me. First I prayed and the Holy Spirit gave me a vision about Deaf people in the Dominican Republic. Then I flew to the Dominican Republic again and stayed for one week. It was very hot there. I was excited to see the deaf kids and deaf adults... 35 or more. They were all well. I taught them God's love in 1 Corinthians 13:13 that says: "there are three things that will endure - faith, hope and love- and the greatest of those is love". God always loves you. They were interested, and learned MORE about God's word. I prayed and ask God to provide what they need while we went to beach at Bonbana. They were swimming and having a wonderful time. I can see that God has been blessing them with His Glory! It is important to learn to communicate because they will then be able to communicate with each other better, and that is awesome. I had an wonderful experience with Deaf people in the Domincan Republic. I believe that Deaf people need to have more opportunities like church, social gatherings, and better education. Then they will improve their communication, education, and their future. We continue praying for Deaf people in the Dominican Republic like we do for other countries, Amen. In Jesus name Amen! Thanks, Marina

International Ministry Loving Hands Ranch hosts Marina Garcia as a missionary to Deaf children in the Dominican Republic.
Marina Garcia graduated from the Evangelism Training Center located in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Upon graduation, Marina began a series of trips to the Dominican Republic. Marina and her friend Dana Sandlin have established a Deaf school in the town of Neiba.
Marina and Dana outside their school. The sign in Spanish reads "School for the Deaf". Without this school, these Deaf children would have no opportunity for an education and might never hear about Jesus.

Marina's Deaf class has grown considerably. Marina returns to the USA each summer to help with our camps. Marina works under the organizational umbrella of Loving Hands Ranch. She is accountable to our director and our board for her funds and her activities.
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
The Dominican Republic is in the Caribbean. It occupies the eastern part of the island of Hispaniola. Haiti occupies the western part of this island.
Neiba is in the west of Santo Domingo. Neiba is sometimes spelled Neyba. Click on the map above for a larger version. |
